Well 2014, it was one helluva year. These year end posts get so cliche and all with the new years resolutions, but I wanted to use this post as a time stamp to document some things about 2014 and explain on what I intend to use 2015 for. Now that I am a father of four kids, and as I have learned more and more with each kid along the way, TIME is truly a precious commodity. It is like the great equalizer for all of us; young, old rich, poor, etc. So, one of my main focus’ for 2015 is using my time effectively and essentially working smarter, not harder as the saying goes.
How do I intend to do this?
I’ll admit one of my fatal flaws is saying, Yes. Each year I find myself serving on another board, volunteering with a group, taking on another extra curricular activity. Not be dismissed as noble endeavors, I have decided that I will have to rid myself of some of these and unfortunately tell some people No in order to forge on with my other goals.
Call it what you will, but our phones can be a huge benefit or detriment to our time depending on they are used and the fact they are at our side nearly every waking second of are day. Here are the best apps that helped me through 2014 and hopefully will remain useful in 2015. It will also be interesting to see what becomes of these apps in a couple years too.
- Google Keep
- Google Calendar
A couple years ago, I started getting pretty good at carrying a notebook with me every where I go. It really helps writing things down whether it’s thoughts, ideas, notes, phone numbers, whatever. I plan on keeping up with that and have even joined the Passion Planner Kickstarter Campaign. This looks like a great tool to track goals and just everyday things. Looking forward to using it.
Good Luck & Good Night.
